“protected from mistreatment” #rampart
What do you do when life is unfair?
My husband answered this question amazingly this weekend, as we continued in our rampart series through the book of Philippians.
Life is unfair to everyone in some shape or form, so I encourage everyone to listen to this message. The perspective we get from Paul’s life is just so perfect for all of us as we have been mistreated or currently are or soon will be.
To have the courage and confidence that:
“nothing gets to you without going through Him first”
is huge! Because we can say like Paul that our chains are in Christ.
“When you’re in Christ, it doesn’t matter what else you’re in.”
This a truth that will change our lives as we look at everything hard we experience through the lens of being “in Christ.”
And the big convicting point came at the end:
“When you’re difficult to offend, you’re easy to bless.”
I am SO that person who can be so offend-able and I hate it! And I love Paul’s example of focusing on Jesus and Him being preached and magnified no matter what. My husband said that when we are easily irritated and easily offended and easily hurt, it’s hard for God to bless that kind of heart.
So I pray that we would all walk in the love of God this week, to remember that God is in control and we can be in whatever chains we are in with confidence in His love.
Take a listen to this message, and have a fabulous week looking for and hastening the coming of the Lord!
