Filling shoeboxes with toys and things little children need seems like such a super simple thing, and it is. But it can change a person’s life. We have loved this tradition of letting the girls pick out toys and toothbrushes and socks and such for a child who would not normally receive a Christmas present. It’s a simple way to teach our children to think of others and be generous and gift givers, and we love this so much.
Last year we got to fill boxes with Lenya, and it was hard this year without her. But we filled a box for her with things she would like. Alivia prayed over the boxes and for the little children who would receive them, that they would experience God’s love and give their hearts to Jesus.
