happy birthday to the livie bird!
“Daddy, when you write a book, I’ll read it, but you’ll have to make the chapters short.”
– Alivia Sky Lusko
This sweet, wise beauty is eight today. Alivia Sky is so insightful and clever and she is brave and strong and confident. She always wants to help me fix things, and she never hesitates in asking for help or directions. She also helps me navigate and understand how to use technology, and I love that!
I read Proverbs 31:30 today, “charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord shall be praised.”
And as I prayed this for Livie this morning, I just thought how 8 years-old seems to be an impressionable year, in that girls this age look to the role models in their lives to how they should act and live as a lady (or not as a lady). My prayer for Liv is that she would learn even more this year to fear the Lord, and that this very thing is not only beautiful, but that it’s the beginning of wisdom – which Proverbs 8 talks all about. And as she’s turning eight, this chapter is where my prayers for her will flow from this year of her life.
So, my dear Alivia, our Livie-Leader, I pray that this year would be a special one as you grow in God’s love, and you learn to fear Him and know Him, and live for Him. You are beautiful and lovely, and I’m honored to be your mommy. I’ve learned so much from you, especially in these past almost 10 months. Your strong, child-like faith, has strengthened mine, and I’m just so proud of you. I love you deeply.
“For wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her.” Proverbs 8:11
